Salem Events This Weekend: Emo Prom, Poet Laureate, Market
A black-tie emo prom Saturday night, the city's poet laureate Sunday, and Thursday stacks a market with live music.
Weekend of Jul 11, plus the week ahead
Sunday is quietly the best day in town this week. The city's 2026 poet laureate reads at the Gables in the afternoon, with a footwear-artist talk at PEM a block away if you want to make a full afternoon of it. Saturday night runs darker and louder with a 21-plus emo prom downtown. And Thursday is the one to circle, when the farmers' market, a meat raffle, and live music on a boat all land within a few hours of each other.
